What can I say about The Velveteen Dream? The former Tough Enough competitor (known as Patrick Clark) has definitely come a long way and has seen better days. He made his debut with NXT on February 5, 2016, but it wasn't until May 24,2017 that Velveteen made his "Prince inspired" debut. He's had phenomenal feuds with the likes of Aleister Black, Ricochet and EC3, whom he defeated tonight with a Valet & a Purple Rainmaker on the ring apron at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn.
Tonight, Velveteen made a statement before and after his match with the words "Call Me Up Vince," which is strategically printed on his tights, right on his derriere. My biggest fear (and I'm not the only fan) of Velveteen moving up to the main roster, is that he will be under utilized.
Dear Velveteen,
Your ass is making a huge statement, so if you get called up and your jobber reign begins, you better not go around saying:

Sincerely,
Your Biggest Fan ;)
Velveteen could join the long list of WWE superstars who have moved up and become jobbers such as Finn Balor, Tyler Breeze and Asuka who is rumored to be pissed about her position on the main roster. I mean...who's bright idea was it for Asuka to wrestle James Ellsworth in a Lumber Jack match? She's also been snubbed from SummerSlam this year.
There are WWE superstars who have seen success after moving up to the main roster like Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Maybe Velveteen could see success...as long as he knows how to make money moves, and play the game.
If I had to guess, he'll probably get called up to SmackDown, but anywhere he goes, there needs to be a match between him and Goldust. It's fair to say that he's the only one that I deem appropriate to retire Mr. Rhodes...just my opinion.
DO NOT SLEEP ON DREAM!!!!
