WrestleMania 35 was indeed everything that it was advertised and billed to be. From every championship with the exception of the US Title changing hands to the first ever Women’s Main Event, this Mania will definitely go down as possibly one of the best in history. The Beast was slain by Seth Rollins, The Demon Fin Balor returned to become Intercontinental Champion, Becky Lynch won both the Raw and Smackdown Live Women’s Champion (botched pin and all) and Kofi Kingston was able to do what most thought was the unthinkable and defeat Daniel Bryan and become the new WWE Heavyweight Champion. Every superstar that competed gave their all and did an amazing job but the biggest and most anticipated match of the night had to be the WWE Championship match between Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan. This being Kofi’s first ever WWE Championship opportunity in 11 years and the obstacles that were placed in his way leading up to the match, this was definitely my pick for match of the night. This became personal to me to the point where I was ready to cancel my WWE Network account if Kofi wasn’t given his opportunity LOL. I was serious of course but WWE and Vince did a great job of almost losing $9.99 which I’m sure is just a drop in an ocean. I would like to think that because of my threats on social media that WWE gave Kofi his WrestleMania moment but all the credit is due to Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi. Kofi overcame all the doubt and negativity and cemented his legacy as the first African born Champion in WWE history as well as the First African-American Grand Slam Champion of the modern era in the companies’ history. Hopefully Vince eats his words and Kofi gets inducted both as a singles competitor and as part of the New Day. I’m not sure how long they will keep the belt on Kofi but nonetheless this has been one of my most memorable experiences as a fan.
