Dustin Rhodes better known as Goldust has officially been released from WWE as of April 21, 2019. Rhodes made a name for himself not as the son of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes but as a flamboyant character named Goldust. Debuting his gimmick in 1995 Goldust would go on to win various championships in WWE including the Hardcore Title (9 Times), Intercontinental Title (3 Times), WWE Tag Team Titles (2 Times) and the World Tag Team Titles (1 Time). Rhodes is definitely one of the most interesting and comical characters that has graced the squared circle. From his extravagant entrances to his memorable promos he will certainly go down as one of the greatest entertainers ever. His back and forth with fellow superstars like Booker T, Stardust (Cody Rhodes) and R-Truth will forever hold a special place with me as they provided hours of laughter and confusion. Although he is leaving WWE he will continue his in ring performances as he is scheduled to appear May 2019 at All Elite Wrestling’s Pay Per View “Double or Nothing” where he is scheduled to face his brother Cody Rhodes. As a member of the WWE Universe I would personally like to thank Dustin Rhodes for being a part of my wrestling experience and wish him nothing but the best as he ventures into the next chapter of his career.
