After weeks and weeks of shots being fired between Velveteen Dream and Ricochet on Twitter, NXT Takeover: Chicago, was they place they put their money where their mouth is.
It was here that Ricochet defeated Velveteen Dream. Dream attempted to one-up Ricochet from a high-flying perspective in the back-and-forth bout, but it backfired and resulted in Ricochet winning with the 630 senton.
As expected both men wowed the crowd:
Now...I will admit I am fan girling between these two athletes. After all, they're both proving they could be the next face of NXT. Velveteen has come a long way from his "Tough Enough" days, although he has no relocation of it (thanks to social media, the fans do). He has evolved into Velveteen, and improved his craft while oozing with charisma.
Ricochet is know for his work in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) with his many accolades: where he is a former where he is a former three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion and a three-time NEVER Open-weight 6-Man Tag Team Champion and the winner of the 2014 Best of the Super Juniors and 2015 Super Jr. Tag Tournaments. Climbing to the top of NXT is one of the many things Ricochet wants to accomplish I'm sure.
