The first round in the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament are complete and on tonight's episode of 205 Live the second round would begin.
Cedric Alexander Vs TJP
High flying and fast paced, this match would feature two of the best cruiserweights in the division. TJP of course won the Cruiserweight Classic becoming the first champion and Cedric Alexander who is looking for his first title reign. Alexander appeared to be on his way to claiming the title when locked in a feud with former champion Enzo Amore but we all are aware of what happened. The match would go back and forth with both TJP and Alexander landing big shots, performing counter after counter and matching each other move for move.
Cedric Alexander would go on to win the match after executing a lumber check and pinning the former champion, eliminating him from the tournament. Alexander is my personal favorite to win it all since he was getting the most push towards the title but with HHH now in charge and new faces on the 205 Live roster, I'm not so sure what's going to happen.
Kalisto Vs Roderick Strong
Another former cruiserweight champion would also compete tonight as Kalisto looks to avoid elimination and advance in the tournament. NXT superstar Roderick Strong had an impressive first round showing and would look to continue and gain momentum heading towards the finals match at Wrestlemania.
Strong and Kalisto take one another to the limit but Strong would pick up the pin fall win hitting Kalisto with End of Heartache. Strong did land hard on his right shoulder and I'm hoping that no serious damage was done as he moves on in the tournament.
