SmackDown Live is on the road to WrestleMania, but before they get there, the 1st pit stop is Fastlane and...John Cena.
Mr. Free agent himself John Cena opens SmackDown Live giving a speech about the WrestleMania card. As you all know, Roman Reigns will face Brock Lesnar at Mania leaving John Cena without match so...why not go to the "Land of opportunity" and be a part of the
Fatal 5-Way Match at Fastlane? Cena said he would do whatever he needed to earn an opportunity which cue's Daniel Bryan's "Bright idea" for Cena to face AJ Styles in SmackDown's main event after Shane's hesitation.
Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin

Between you and me...who laughed their asses off when Kevin Owens said "Corbin, if you're looking for your hairline, it's on the top of your head?" Owens sat in on commentary as Sami Zayn went to work in the ring with Baron Corbin and that was my favorite part of this match.
Corbin had a stare down with KO as he pounded away on is best bro Zayn. His quickness allowed The "Underdog from the Underground" to battle back.
In the end, it was Corbin's End of Days that put a stop to Zayn and kept him a down for the count. Meanwhile, Dolph Ziggler leaped from out of the stands superkicking Owens. He then went on to blindside Corbin.
We must not forget that Ziggler recently signed a 2 year WWE contract deal (worth 3 million dollars I might add). Seems to me that we need to keep eyes on Ziggler because if it's sent in stone that he'll be around for 2 years then one must wonder what coming up for him.
Naomi vs. Ruby Riott

Before I start this segment please understand that I will always and forever be...Team Naomi. Why, you might ask? Because anyone who can jump smack you in the face with
their ass, has got talent!
Moving on...Queen Charlotte and Becky Lynch accompanied Naomi to the ring (I can't help but want to dance when her music hits), while Riott brought along her squad. Naomi & Ruby did not waste anytime because as soon as the bell rang, Riott shoved Naomi and Naomi came back with forearms. Riott then knees Naomi and forces her to the corner, where Naomi counters with a headscissors buttshake, forcing Riott to retreat. After the commercial break, Ruby is in control with a seated full nelson, swinging Naomi like a rag doll.
The camera is then cut to backstage where Carmella the Irrelevant is answering social media questions...that's all I have to say about that!
In the end, Naomi misses her Rear view move and Ruby Riott cashes in with the Riott Kick.
Riott needed this win to get momentum for the match between her and Charlotte at Fastlane. This rivalry is heating up, and worth watching.
The New Day & The Usos

Yes I am team Shelton & Gable but...this rivalry is heating up and is definitely whats best for business. When the Usos and The New Day get together, I can't help but smile knowing that the trash talking will be lit!
The New Day approaches the squared circle slinging booty pancakes as usual before talking up their revisited rivalry with The Usos.
Xavier Woods begins with saying how WrestleMania season is in full swing, and they are looking to secure their position on the grandest stage of them all. Kofi Kingston continues to talk about how Fastlane is the first stop and they’ll be up against their greatest rivals. Jimmy & Jey Uso, the men that have pushed them to the limit at every turn. And Big E well...Big E says their rivalry is hotter than his inner thighs in the summer and demands Kingston spritz him...repeatedly. Woods also tells us that if they win, they are heading to WrestleMainia
to party New Orleans style!
Enter the Usos. They say the New Day are spreading the power of positivity through pancakes but they’re right about one thing-- they did go to war, and only one team was left standing tall with the tag titles, and they haven’t looked back since. They used to be just like the New Day, running around singing and dancing dressed like a box of Skittles, but that didn’t take them to the next level.
"You talk about the power of positivity, how about a dose of reality? New Day have been grinding for nine years, blood, sweat, and tears in the middle of the ring, trying to prove that the Usos belong on WrestleMania. Year after year they’ve been getting passed over, nine years in the game and zero WrestleMania's. WrestleMania 27? Sidelined. 28? Sidelined. 29? 30? 31? 32? 33? All sidelined."
Big E got hot and he went on to say how The New Day hosted WrestleMania when the Usos were in the back eating catering and they didn’t get here because of their daddies, and they didn’t stand on the sideline because they rushed the field and took what was theirs and they plan to take what’s theirs and become five-time WWE tag team champions.
Uso swats E’s hand out of his face and they step up to each other when the Bludgeon Brothers’ music hits! Harper and Rowan make their way to the ring, hammers in hand, and Usos and New Day take their leave. I would too. Them boys are dangerous!
Aiden English vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Aiden English faced Nakamura after asking McMahon for an opportunity.
The Shakespeare of Song had the early advantage, but even with Rusev helping him by distracting Nakamura, English didn't last long. A Kinshasa ended the match.
John Cena vs. AJ Styles

To begin the match, Cena overpowered the WWE champ and was able to stay atop his opponent, blasting him with his signature power moves. A weary Styles hung in with Cena, playing a lot of defense. The Phenomenal One flew around the ring, leaving Cena's ribs hurting and scoring a number of near-falls. A failed high-risk move left the WWE champ vulnerable, but Cena was unable to put him away. It took Cena deadlifting Styles off the mat and hitting an Attitude Adjustment to pin styles and earn a spot in the Fatal 5-Way match making it a 6 man match at Fastlane.
Moments later, Corbin, Zayn and Owens ganged up on Cena and Styles. Ziggler followed, superkicking everything in sight. Cena landed the last blow in the brawl before SmackDown went off the air.
Side note: I'm really happy that Ziggler cut his hair. He was starting to look like a rejected 80's hair band rocker who's solo career never took off :)
